DTM championship title to be decided at Hockenheimring finale

The DTM championship title will be decided at the season finale held at the Hockenheimring from October 9 to 11. Six drivers remain in contention for the 2026 crown, with a maximum of 56 points available in the Motodrom.

Thomas Preining, driving for Porsche Manthey, currently leads the standings with 197 points. Preining enters the finale in strong form, having achieved six consecutive podium finishes, a feat previously unseen in the DTM GT3 era. His closest competitor is Maro Engel of Mercedes-AMG Team Ravenol, who trails by 23 points. Marco Wittmann follows closely behind Engel, just one point further back.

Other drivers with mathematical chances for the overall victory include Lucas Auer, Matteo Cairoli, and Nicki Thiim.
