DTSEN implementation adds 4.33 million new social assistance beneficiaries in Indonesia

The implementation of the National Single Socio-Economic Data (DTSEN) has resulted in 4.33 million new beneficiary families being added to social assistance programs in Indonesia. Muhammad Qodari, Head of the Government Communication Agency (Bakom), stated that the updated data helps identify citizens who were previously unrecorded, thereby reducing data fragmentation between agencies.

Legislators from Commission X of the DPR RI have called on the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) to strengthen validation mechanisms for DTSEN. Member of Parliament Karmila Sari emphasized the need for more accurate decile determination to ensure government aid reaches the correct recipients. She noted that inaccuracies can affect both low-income and middle-class citizens and urged for better socialization of data update procedures, such as the specialized website available for citizens to update their economic status.
