du and Khalifa University develop AI-driven 6G network blueprint

Telecom provider du and the Digital Future Institute at Khalifa University have released a whitepaper titled ‘The Intelligence Network: A 6G Blueprint for Telcos’. The document outlines a model for AI-native, autonomous, and monetizable telecommunications infrastructure, proposing that operators transition into providers of intelligence infrastructure.

In related field trials conducted in Mohamed Bin Zayed City, Abu Dhabi, du tested the upper 6 GHz band on live macro infrastructure. These trials, among the first of their kind in the region, validated upper-mid-band spectrum performance at scale, achieving outdoor coverage of up to 500 metres and peak downlink speeds of approximately 1.5 Gbps using existing site infrastructure.
