Dual‑target CAR‑T therapy shows improved control of follicular lymphoma in pre‑clinical study

Researchers from Hospital Clínic‑IDIBAPS and the cancer program of CIBER (CIBERONC) identified the protein CD70 as a diagnostic marker that signals a higher risk of relapse in patients with follicular lymphoma. Building on this finding, they engineered a dual‑target CAR‑T cell therapy, ARI‑0001, that simultaneously attacks CD19 and CD70. In pre‑clinical models, the CD19‑CD70 CAR‑T therapy achieved better tumor control than single‑target approaches, suggesting a path toward more effective, personalized immunotherapy for this common lymphoma.
