Dušan Alimpijević leads Beşiktaş back into EuroLeague as Monaco exits

The EuroLeague governing body is set to replace financially unstable Monaco with Turkish club Beşiktaş for the 2026‑27 season, pending a board vote on June 26. Beşiktaş earned a special invitation after reaching the EuroCup final last season, where it was beaten by France’s Burg.

Serbian national‑team coach Dušan Alimpijević, who previously guided Red Star to EuroLeague play in 2017‑18, will return to the top European competition after a nine‑year hiatus. Alimpijević will coach Beşiktaş while Monaco moves to the EuroCup under its five‑year license agreement with the league.
