Dušan Kovačević and regional artists receive major cultural awards

Several prominent cultural awards have been announced across the region. Dušan Kovačević, a renowned Serbian playwright, screenwriter, and director, has been awarded the ‘Sveti Stefan Štiljanović’ prize at the ‘Ćirilicom’ festival in Budva. The jury recognized his significant contributions to literature, drama, and film, noting his ability to blend humor with tragedy.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, Emir Suljagić, director of the Srebrenica Memorial Center, received the ‘Zdravko Grebo’ award for critical discourse at the 8th Sarajevo Fest. The award honors his work in addressing the past and fighting for fundamental values.

At the Niš Film Festival in Serbia, Vučić Perović won the Grand Prix for best acting for his role in the film ‘Oče naš’. Other winners include Jovana Stojiljković for best actress and Andrija Kuzmanović for best actor. Additionally, Svetlana Mihajlović and Todor Valov were honored with the ‘Mali Princ’ lifetime achievement award at the International Puppet Theater Festival in Subotica.
