Duane Davis convicted of first-degree murder in Tupac Shakur case
A Las Vegas jury has convicted Duane “Keefe D” Davis of first-degree murder in connection with the 1996 slaying of rapper Tupac Shakur. The conviction follows a trial where Davis’ own statements were central to the prosecution’s case. Napoleon, a member of the group Outlawz, noted that Davis essentially “told on himself” by attempting to frame his involvement as entertainment.
During the proceedings, the name of Sean “Diddy” Combs was frequently mentioned. Prosecutors played audio in which Davis claimed he expected payment from Combs following the shooting. Davis also alleged that a $1 million hit had been placed on Shakur, though he stated he never received the money. Despite these claims and the testimony regarding gang rivalries and industry connections, no charges have been filed against Combs, and he did not appear as a witness during the trial.
