Duane Davis sentenced to 40 years to life for Tupac Shakur murder
Duane “Keffe D” Davis has been sentenced to 40 years to life in prison for orchestrating the 1996 murder of rapper Tupac Shakur. The sentencing concludes a decades-long investigation into the shooting that occurred in Las Vegas.
Davis was arrested in September 2023 near his home in Henderson, Nevada, following an indictment by a Clark County grand jury. In his 2019 memoir, “Compton Street Legend,” Davis claimed he was present in the vehicle during the incident and passed a weapon to his nephew, Orlando “Baby Lane” Anderson. Police had long identified Anderson as a likely shooter, but he was killed in a separate shooting in Compton in 1998.
