Duane “Keefe D” Davis convicted of Tupac Shakur murder

Duane “Keefe D” Davis has been convicted of first-degree murder with a deadly weapon for his role in the 1996 killing of Tupac Shakur. Following a jury deliberation that lasted less than three hours, Davis faces a potential sentence of life in prison without parole, with sentencing scheduled for October 13.

In recent interviews, Davis has maintained his innocence and expressed confidence that he will be released on appeal. He has also significantly altered his long-standing narrative regarding the incident, claiming he was not in Las Vegas on the night of the shooting but was instead near UCLA.

Davis further distanced himself from his 2019 memoir, ‘Compton Street Legend’, which prosecutors used as evidence. In the book, he had previously described providing the weapon and being present in the vehicle during the attack. Additionally, Davis revealed unsuccessful attempts to secure legal funding from Sean Combs and Dr. Dre.
