Dubai Airport launches mobile immigration service
The General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) Dubai has officially launched ‘Click and Travel’, a new mobile immigration service at Dubai’s airports. The system allows passport officers to conduct entry and departure procedures using mobile devices rather than being restricted to fixed counters.
The technology utilizes a combination of facial recognition, fingerprint biometrics, electronic passport reading, and automated pre-screening. This mobile approach is designed to reduce congestion and provide officers with greater flexibility to assist passengers during peak travel periods. Transactions through the service are estimated to take between 12 and 15 seconds.
The service follows extensive testing, during which 31,373 passengers were processed between May and August 2026. The rollout is available to UAE citizens, UAE residents, GCC nationals, and international visitors.
