Dubai Municipality Deploys AI for Faster Home Water Quality Testing
Dubai Municipality has introduced an artificial‑intelligence system to analyse household water samples, enabling rapid detection of harmful bacteria such as Legionella and E. coli. Results are now delivered electronically, cutting laboratory turnaround times dramatically and allowing immediate corrective action.
The upgraded service expands testing beyond tap water to include storage tanks, swimming pools and other non‑bottled sources, strengthening protection for residents, hospitality venues and public facilities. Officials say the move supports Dubai’s smart‑city vision and aligns with international public‑health standards. As Hind Mahmoud Ahmed, Director of the Dubai Central Laboratory Department, noted, “Dubai Municipality continues to leverage advanced technologies and artificial intelligence to deliver laboratory solutions that strengthen proactive protection against public health risks.”
