Dubai digital entrepreneurs highlight growth via Create Apps Championship
Previous winners of the Create Apps Championship have identified Dubai as a significant hub for digital innovation and scalable business ventures. The championship, organized by the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, provides entrepreneurs with specialized training, mentorship, access to investors, and funding to launch new applications.
Entrepreneurs highlighted how the program and Dubai’s regulatory framework helped transition concepts into functional products. Mariam Mohammed Almarri, Co-Founder of Boom, noted that being named ‘Dubai’s App of the Year 2025’ and ‘Most Impactful App’ provided the visibility and credibility necessary to grow the venture.
Rakesh Mavath, Co-Founder and CEO of Takeem, stated that the championship provided credibility, visibility, and access to government stakeholders and investors. Following his participation, Takeem onboarded over 100,000 units with a combined annual rental value exceeding AED 9 billion. Other participants, including founders of The Intern and Pharmedic, emphasized the value of mentorship and the ability to refine business models through the competition.
