Dubai establishes media committee and solidifies role as global financial hub

Dubai's leadership, led by Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has created the Dubai Media Narrative Committee, chaired by Mona Ghanem Al Marri, to counter misinformation and coordinate a consistent narrative for the emirate.

At the same time, Dubai has cemented its position as a leading global financial centre, ranking seventh in the Global Financial Centres Index in 2026. The Dubai International Financial Centre attracted $8.83 billion in greenfield foreign direct investment in 2025 and helped grow the emirate’s economy by 5.4 %. Dubai International Airport recorded a historic 95.2 million passengers in 2025, underscoring the city’s importance in international trade and travel.
