Dubai investors target Rp5 trillion refinery project in Central Java

Investors from Dubai, United Arab Emirates, have expressed interest in developing a mini refinery project in Jepara, Central Java. The proposed investment is valued at approximately Rp5 trillion and aims to process crude oil to strengthen energy fulfillment in the region.

Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi met with the potential investors in Jakarta on September 15, 2026. The project is expected to be realized by the end of 2026 following the signing of a formal cooperation agreement. This follows a trend of significant investment from the UAE into Central Java, which has totaled Rp13 trillion over the last five years.
