Dubai Maritime City records record daily dry-berth vessel count

Dubai Maritime City (DMC) recorded a record 52 vessels in its dry berths on a single day, marking its highest daily figure to date. This surge in demand coincides with rising regional oil and gas production.

In July, dry-berth occupancy increased by 22% year-on-year, while the total number of vessels accommodated during the month rose 7% from 188 to 202. Much of this growth was driven by offshore vessels up to 150 meters in length, as operators prioritized fleet maintenance to ensure operational readiness. Additionally, demand for yachts and recreational craft saw significant growth, with dry mooring occupancy rising 88% year-on-year in July.

To manage this growth, DMC is expanding its capacity for smaller vessels by acquiring and retrofitting over 500 ship cradle units. The facility is also implementing increased automation, including automated vehicle gates and AI-based safety systems, to enhance operational efficiency.
