Dubai Police secure 95.2 million passengers using AI-powered airport security
Dubai Police secured the journeys of 95.2 million passengers and processed over 86.75 million pieces of baggage through Dubai airports in 2025. The force is increasingly integrating artificial intelligence and smart technologies to manage the growing volume of travelers and enhance operational efficiency.
During an annual inspection of the General Department of Airport Security, Lieutenant General Abdulla Khalifa Al Marri reviewed advanced systems deployed throughout the passenger journey. These technologies include AI-enabled passenger screening, automated detection and handling of unattended baggage, and the analysis of camera feeds and visual data to improve monitoring and response times.
Al Marri emphasized that continued investment in both technology and human capabilities is essential to keep pace with passenger growth. The department is currently overseeing nine development projects designed to streamline procedures and integrate smart solutions from airport entry to departure, aiming to maintain high safety standards while reducing processing times.
