Dubai Police warns of heavy fines and jail for illegal fireworks during Eid

Dubai Police issued an urgent warning ahead of the Eid Al Adha holidays, telling residents that using, trading, importing, exporting or manufacturing fireworks without a licence is illegal and dangerous. The force emphasized that fireworks can cause burns, amputations and permanent disabilities, threatening lives, property and public safety.

Under Federal Decree Law No. 17 of 2019, Article 54, anyone involved in the illegal fireworks trade faces a minimum fine of Dh 100,000 and at least one year of imprisonment, or either penalty. Authorities will maintain round‑the‑clock inspections at land, sea and air entry points and across commercial venues to enforce compliance and protect the public.
