Dubai reports record trade growth and new economic award winner

Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, has highlighted significant economic achievements within the emirate. He commended the Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ) for reporting record trade performance in the first half of 2026. Total trade value across DIEZ’s three economic zones reached Dhs246 billion, representing a 17% increase compared to the same period the previous year.

Additionally, Sheikh Hamdan announced SWS Board Technology as the winner of the Dubai-it Award in the economy category. Founded by Rainier Nouhra, the company has established a major industrial presence in Dubai, manufacturing approximately half of the world’s kiteboards and wakeboards, and one-third of its snowboards. The facility has an annual production capacity exceeding 450,000 boards and has supplied products to global markets, including those used in the Winter Olympics.
