Dubai schools prepare for new KHDA inspection protocols

Dubai schools are preparing for a new assessment system by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) following a two-year hiatus. A significant change in the process is the reduction of notice for inspections; schools will now receive only 24 hours' notice rather than the previous one-week period. This shift aims to ensure evaluators observe authentic, everyday teaching practices rather than a curated version of school operations prepared specifically for an inspection.

School leaders are managing this transition through continuous self-evaluation, internal reviews, and regular classroom observations to maintain consistent standards throughout the academic year.

In conjunction with these regulatory shifts, schools across the UAE are also managing student assessments following the October mid-term break. Educators are advising parents to help students re-establish routines and engage in focused revision to prepare for upcoming evaluations, particularly for senior year groups.
