Dubai students launch initiatives to support blue-collar community
Students in Dubai, Radhika Prabhu and Jash Jain, have launched two separate initiatives aimed at supporting the city’s blue-collar community. Mentored by university admissions experts at UniHawk, the pair developed projects to address social challenges they observed firsthand.
Radhika Prabhu created LabourLink, a volunteering platform that connects students and community members with legitimate opportunities organized by CDA-approved organizations. Since its launch last year, the platform has onboarded nearly 300 volunteers who have contributed over 3,000 hours of service. These efforts have benefited more than 8,000 laborers through activities such as food distribution, essential-item drives, computer-literacy sessions, and English classes.
Jash Jain developed Thirst-E, a social enterprise initiative specifically designed to improve access to hydration for outdoor workers.
