Dublin charity under investigation for suspected money laundering

An investigation by the Gardaí money laundering unit has targeted a Dublin-based charity involved in recycling clothes and other goods. Detectives conducted raids on the organization’s premises in Dublin and across the east and southeast of Ireland.

Authorities seized two BMW X5 vehicles valued at approximately €250,000, along with luxury items including Rolex watches, Louis Vuitton bags, and jewellery estimated to be worth €40,000. The charity is suspected of laundering donation proceeds for private gain.

The investigation is being conducted in conjunction with the Charities Regulator, which reportedly alerted the Gardaí to discrepancies in the organization’s activities. Despite the ongoing investigation, the charity remains on the official register of the Charities Regulator.
