Dublin health conferences address life sciences and service integration
Recent conferences in Dublin have addressed the future of the European and Irish healthcare sectors. At the ‘Europe in Good Health’ event, hosted by the Institute of International and European Affairs and sponsored by Johnson & Johnson, policymakers and industry leaders discussed strengthening the life sciences ecosystem. Discussions focused on how initiatives like the EU Biotech Act could enhance Europe’s competitiveness, accelerate innovation, and improve patient outcomes.
Separately, the HSE’s Integrated Healthcare Conference 2026 examined the integration of health services across hospitals, primary care, and community settings. While noting that Ireland reports the highest levels of self-reported good health in the EU, officials highlighted ongoing challenges. These include the need for improvements in e-health, the management of long patient waiting lists, and the necessity of sustainable investment following significant organizational changes and regionalization.
