Dublin hosts international conferences on corrosion science and e-waste management

Dublin hosted two major international conferences in September 2026 focused on environmental technology and sustainability.

EUROCORR 2026 brought together over 1,200 delegates from 48 countries to discuss corrosion science and its role in supporting green technologies and the energy transition. Organized by the European Federation of Corrosion in partnership with the Institute of Corrosion and IOM3, the event featured the 67th Corrosion Science Symposium to support early-career researchers.

Simultaneously, the WEEE Forum International Conference, co-hosted by WEEE Ireland, addressed the future of electronic waste in Europe. High-level discussions focused on critical raw material security, the proposed EU e-waste levy, and the upcoming Circular Economy Act. Experts from the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Environment emphasized the need for new collection targets that account for the long lifespan of equipment like solar panels and heating systems.
