Dublin hosts National Cinema Weekend and 20th annual Book Festival

Ireland is hosting two major cultural events in Dublin. National Cinema Weekend will take place on September 5 and 6, 2026, offering movie tickets for €4 at participating cinemas across the country, including venues like Vue Dublin. Supported by Fís Éireann / Screen Ireland, the initiative aims to celebrate Irish cinema culture and make film experiences more accessible to the public.

Additionally, the Dublin Book Festival will celebrate its 20th anniversary from November 4 to 8, 2026. The five-day festival will feature over 120 events, including literary talks, book launches, and walking tours. The confirmed speaker lineup includes notable authors such as Roddy Doyle, Anne Enright, Marian Keyes, and Jodi Picoult.
