Dublin hurlers Chris Crummey and Liam Rushe announce retirement

Dublin hurling players Chris Crummey and Liam Rushe have announced their retirement from inter-county competition.

Chris Crummey, the 33-year-old Dublin captain, is stepping down after a 13-year career that began in 2013. A three-time All-Star nominee, Crummey was a key figure in Dublin’s historic 2013 Leinster title win and most recently captained the side during their recent championship campaign.

Liam Rushe, aged 36, also concludes his inter-county career after more than 15 years. A two-time All-Star, Rushe made a surprise return to the Dublin panel last season after a four-year absence, starting at centre half-back in the Leinster final against Galway. His career highlights include winning the National Hurling League in 2011 and the Leinster Senior Hurling Championship in 2013.
