Dublin police arrest man after woman found dead in Finglas

An investigation is underway in Dublin after the body of 48-year-old Loredana Morosanu was discovered at a residence in Melville Terrace, Finglas, early Monday morning. Gardaí responded to the scene shortly after 4:30 am and have preserved the area for forensic examination by the Garda Technical Bureau.

Authorities believe Ms. Morosanu, a Romanian national originally from Botosani, died violently. A man in his 40s was arrested at a separate location around 11:00 am in connection with the death and remains in custody. The Office of the State Pathologist and the Coroner have been notified, with a post-mortem examination scheduled to take place.

Local community members have expressed significant shock, with some planning a vigil to honor the deceased. Gardaí are appealing for witnesses, specifically requesting anyone who was in the Melville Terrace area between midnight and 5:00 am to come forward, including individuals who may have dashcam footage of the vicinity.
