Dubrava Zabočka hosts fifth Zagorska pekmezijada jam competition

The fifth Zagorska pekmezijada is set to take place in Dubrava Zabočka at the NK Rudar fields. Organized by the Association of Volunteers and Veterans of the Homeland War of Krapina-Zagorje County, the event has grown significantly, increasing from 10 competing teams at its inception to 25 teams this year.

Approximately 125 competitors will participate, cooking plum jam using traditional methods. Josip Horvatin, president of the association, noted that the primary judging criterion is the authentic taste of the plum. The event aims to showcase the specific culinary traditions of the Zagorje region.

In addition to the competition, the program includes food offerings such as roast ox and musical performances by the groups O. B. R. 5 and Vigor.
