Dubravka Rebić wins Vladan Desnica Award for novel
Writer Dubravka Rebić has been named the winner of the Vladan Desnica Award for her novel ‘Letu je kraj’, published by Prometej. The announcement was made by a jury of prominent contemporary Serbian writers during a press conference at the National Library of Serbia.
The Vladan Desnica Award is unique in Serbia as it is the only literary prize where writers present the award to fellow writers. Established in 2022, it honors the best novel first published in the Serbian language during the previous calendar year. This year, the jury reviewed 67 submissions before narrowing the selection down to five finalists.
The jury, led by president Muharem Bazdulj, included members Ljubica Arsić, Ivana Dimić, Mirjana Mitrović, Sanja Savić Milosavljević, Goran Gocić, and Vule Žurić. The formal award ceremony is scheduled to take place on Monday, September 21, at the National Library of Serbia’s Gallery Space.
