Dubrovnik completes palm planting in Uz Posat street

As part of the ‘Drvored – zeleni prsten oko Grada’ project, the City of Dubrovnik has completed the planting of 35 new palms in the Uz Posat street area, located near the city's historic core. The planting includes 11 Canary palms (Phoenix canariensis) and 24 Washingtonia robusta palms. The project also plans for the addition of 22 Pittosporum tobira saplings, bringing the total number of new trees to 57 while preserving existing vegetation.

In addition to the tree planting, the project involves landscaping with decorative concrete at a future viewpoint in Srednji Kono Street and renovating staircases in the upper part of Uz Posat Street. The area will be equipped with new urban furniture and unobtrusive lighting designed to suit the historical environment, with all works adhering to conservation requirements.

The total project cost is 447,912.25 euros including VAT. Funding includes 278,500 euros in grants from the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund, representing 62 percent of the total investment. The contractor, Adriatik građenje, began work on July 13 with a five-month completion deadline.
