Croatian towns roll out major infrastructure upgrades

Municipalities across Croatia are completing a wave of infrastructure projects. In Rakovica, officials highlighted new water supply works, road paving, a bike lane, and the renovation of the historic Old Town of Drežnik. Brela finished widening the Put Luke road, upgraded a steep slope, and installed new fire hydrants and a water main for Solina. Dubrovnik’s "Drvored Vojnović" project is planting 62 Celtis trees along Iva Vojnovića Street, adding irrigation and storm‑water management, funded largely by a national environmental fund. Vinkovci mayor Josip Romić reported ongoing construction of a city‑wide network of bicycle paths linking major streets. In Mošćenička Draga, the council is expanding the Brseč cemetery, extending water and sewage networks, and building the first road to the Sveti Ivan beach. Buzet began building a new water reservoir to secure future growth, financed by the national recovery plan. Zagreb continues summer works on the Savska‑Vukovarska intersection, repairing tram infrastructure despite high temperatures. In neighboring Slovenia, Ljutomer signed a €2.16 million contract to rebuild roads and upgrade its water system, while Serbia’s Novi Sad is repairing the A and D wings of its main railway station after a 2022 roof collapse.
