Dubrovnik introduces 12 new electric buses for Libertas
The public transport company Libertas has introduced 12 new MAN Lion’s City 12E fully electric low-floor buses in Dubrovnik. This acquisition is part of the ‘Electrification of Public Bus Transport’ project.
The new vehicles are approximately 12 meters long and can carry at least 75 passengers, including 28 seated. They are equipped with electric motors providing a continuous power of 160 kW and a maximum of 230 kW. The battery system offers a range of at least 360 kilometers, which is expected to remain above 300 kilometers even after ten years of use.
Dubrovnik Mayor Mato Franković noted that the transition from fossil fuels to electricity represents a significant step forward and will lead to energy savings. Libertas Director Pero Milković added that the buses feature two charging points for increased flexibility and announced plans to build two additional charging stations worth approximately 2.5 million euros by next season.
