Dubrovnik launches public consultation for 2033 cultural development program

The City of Dubrovnik has launched a public consultation process for its Cultural Development Program through 2033. This initiative includes an integrated program for interpreting the city's UNESCO World Heritage sites from 2026 to 2033.

Designed to ensure the sustainable development of the local cultural sector, the program focuses on the protection of cultural heritage, the promotion of community involvement, and the development of new models for cultural production and management. Key pillars of the strategy include digitalization, the use of new technologies, education, research, and enhanced international cultural connectivity.

The program follows European and international guidelines, such as the 2018 New European Agenda for Culture and the ICOMOS Charter for the Interpretation and Presentation of Cultural Properties. The development process involved four phases, including data collection, stakeholder workshops, and the creation of a draft action plan. The Zagreb-based company MUZE d. o. o. was selected as the professional developer for the program.
