Dubrovnik Motorcyclist Death Prompts Lawyer to Demand Release of Police Dashcam Footage
Twenty‑year‑old Patrik Kajinić died after a traffic accident in the Dubrovnik‑Neretva settlement of Mokošica on 27 July. Police say he entered a right‑hand blind curve at excessive speed, lost control, struck a concrete post and a stone wall and then fell into the sea, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Lawyer and Dubrovnik city councilor Viktorija Knežević criticised the police statement, noting that the State Prosecutor’s Office took over the investigation, which she said suggests suspicion of a criminal offence. Knežević demanded the full dash‑cam recording from the moment police first sighted the motorcyclist until the crash, stating, “This statement raises more questions than it answers… There is only one way to provide answers and remove every doubt, that is to publish the full footage from the dash‑cam.” She argues that releasing the video would clarify the circumstances and address public concerns.
