Dubrovnik-Neretva County provides drone equipment to earthquake engineering center

Blaž Pezo, the Prefect of Dubrovnik-Neretva County, has delivered 30,000 euros worth of equipment to the Croatian Center for Earthquake Engineering (HCPI). The equipment, which includes modern unmanned aerial vehicles, digital laser rangefinders, battery lamps, and portable chargers, was acquired through the HANDY project.

The HANDY project is co-financed by the Interreg Italy-Croatia cross-border cooperation program. Over the course of the two-year project, which began in September 2024 and concludes on September 30, 2026, a total of 290,000 euros worth of equipment has been procured. Other recipients of project equipment include the Firefighting Community of Dubrovnik-Neretva County, HGSS stations in Dubrovnik and Orebić, and the Red Cross Association of Dubrovnik-Neretva County.

Dubrovnik-Neretva County is the first regional self-government unit in Croatia to formally integrate the HCPI into its civil protection system, covering risks such as earthquakes, floods, and fires.
