Dubrovnik Pass wins European award for smart tourism

The Dubrovnik Pass has won first prize in the ‘Digitalisation in Smart Tourism’ category at the European Cultural Tourism Network (ECTN) Awards. The award was presented at a conference on the Greek island of Skiathos to Julijana Antić Brautović, the Head of the Department for Culture for the City of Dubrovnik.

The Dubrovnik Pass is a digital system designed to manage cultural tourism by integrating heritage preservation, sustainable tourism, public transport, and smart visitor management. The system utilizes real-time visitor tracking and crowd prediction tools to support the preservation of heritage sites while generating revenue for cultural institutions and restoration projects.

Financial data indicates the success of the model, with August revenues reaching 3,492,280 euros, a 15 percent increase compared to the same month last year. From the beginning of 2026 through August, a total of 389,752 passes were sold, generating 16,721,725 euros in revenue, representing a 16.5 percent year-on-year increase.
