The city has introduced measures such as limiting large excursion boats to two per day, capping passenger numbers at 4,000, and deploying sensor‑based crowd‑control systems to reduce congestion and protect its historic UNESCO‑listed centre.

In the Czech Republic, the Baťův Canal offers an alternative vacation experience. The 60‑kilometre waterway, originally built for lignite transport, now caters to tourists who can rent houseboats or small motorboats without a captain’s licence after a brief training session. Weekly rental prices range from roughly 18,000 to 35,000 Czech crowns, with weekend rates starting around 5,000 crowns for smaller vessels.
