Dubrovnik Summer Games and Pula Film Festival showcase new Croatian productions

Actor Frano Mašković spoke about his portrayal of the miser Skup in the classic Marin Držić comedy performed at this year’s Dubrovnik Summer Games. He described the role’s focus on greed and money, the historic outdoor venue on Ruđer Bošković’s field, and the personal significance of playing the part in his hometown.

The drama was followed by the world premiere of the film “Male stvari” at the 73rd Pula Film Festival. Directed by Zvonimir Jurić and featuring Marija Škaričić and other actors, the Dalmatian family drama entered competition for the Golden Arena. The story follows a family on a remote island trying to sell land while one member strives to preserve their world.
