Dubrovo substation registered under state ownership for MEPSO
The Ministry of Energy and Mining has announced that the Dubrovo 400/110 kV substation, built in 1977, has been officially registered under state ownership in favor of MEPSO. This resolves a nearly 50-year legal dispute regarding dual ownership between MEPSO and EVN.
This administrative resolution is intended to facilitate the planning, maintenance, and modernization of critical transmission network infrastructure, which is vital for the stability and security of the energy system. The Ministry noted that establishing clear ownership is a prerequisite for future investments and reconstruction projects.
In a related effort, authorities are working to resolve the legal status of the Bunardzhik 110/20 kV substation. This includes preparing a contract for the free transfer of a portion of real estate to MEPSO, which will enable the construction of a new 110 kV power line between the Bunardzhik and Miladinovci substations to support the country's railway infrastructure.
