Duc Thuong Market vendors offer affordable meals in Hanoi

In Duc Thuong Market, located in Hoai Duc, Hanoi, several food vendors are offering meals at significantly lower prices than the city's average. While many noodle dishes in Hanoi now cost between 40,000 and 50,000 VND, vendors at this market provide options ranging from 10,000 to 25,000 VND.

One vendor, Dinh Thi Huyen, has sold offal porridge for over 20 years. Despite market fluctuations, her prices remain capped at 20,000 VND per bowl. She attributes the affordability to low stall rental fees and sourcing ingredients directly from slaughterhouses to minimize costs.

Similarly, Ngo Thi Hai operates a bun cha stall with prices starting at 10,000 VND. She stated her goal is to serve local manual laborers and rural residents with limited incomes by maintaining affordable, basic dining options.
