Ducati 998RS used by Steve Hislop for 2002 title for sale

The 2002 Ducati 998RS used by Steve Hislop to win the British Superbike Championship has been put up for sale for £180,000 (approximately €210,000).

The motorcycle is historically significant for its performance at Donington Park, where Hislop recorded a lap time of 1:31.457. This time was 106 milliseconds faster than the pole position time of 1:31.563 set by Valentino Rossi on a Honda MotoGP bike during the British Grand Prix earlier that year.

During his 2002 championship season, Hislop secured eight victories, ten pole positions, and 13 fastest laps. The racing machine, which carries chassis number VS5801, was managed by the MonsterMob Ducati UK team under Paul Bird Motorsport. It features high-performance components including Öhlins suspension, AP Racing brakes, and a Blue Flame exhaust system.
