Ducati MotoGP team tackles integration of Pedro Acosta alongside Marc Márquez

Ducati confirmed that 22‑year‑old Spanish rider Pedro Acosta will join Marc Márquez as a teammate for the 2027 MotoGP season. The move raises expectations for the Italian factory, but analysts warn the team must adopt KTM’s measured development approach – limiting technical overload and focusing on rider confidence – or risk the young star becoming “lost” amid the pressure of partnering with a multiple‑champion.

Marc Márquez, already in his second year with Ducati, is praised by team director Davide Tardozzi and project lead Gigi Dall'Igna for his humility, leadership and ability to listen. After a shoulder injury and surgery, Márquez returned with an 84‑point lead, reinforcing the strong bond between the rider and the Ducati camp. The combined focus on rider well‑being and strategic support is seen as central to Ducati’s pursuit of continued dominance in the premier class.
