Ducati reaches 100 MotoGP victories with Marc Márquez win in Japan

Marc Márquez secured Ducati's 100th MotoGP victory under the technical direction of Gigi Dall'Igna at the 2026 Japanese Grand Prix in Motegi. Following a successful sprint race, Márquez won the main Sunday race, marking his sixth victory of the season and his 79th career win in the premier class.

This milestone represents a significant turnaround for Ducati. Since Dall'Igna joined the team in late 2013, the manufacturer has achieved 100 wins, compared to only 31 prior to his arrival. The victory at Motegi also marks Ducati's tenth win at this specific circuit, equaling the historical record held by Honda.

In the championship standings, Márquez's performance allowed him to gain 10 points on his rival, Jorge Martín, who finished on the podium alongside Marco Bezzecchi. Ducati General Manager Gigi Dall'Igna described Márquez's performance as “simply impeccable,” noting his ability to study his rivals and manage the race advantage effectively.
