Ducati takes MotoGP constructors' lead after San Marino Grand Prix
The San Marino Grand Prix has significantly altered the MotoGP constructors' championship standings. Ducati has overtaken Aprilia to take the lead with 412 points, holding a narrow two-point advantage over the brand from Noale, which sits at 410 points. KTM maintains a solid third place with 251 points.
In the rider category, Fabio Quartararo secured a tenth-place finish for Yamaha despite facing severe technical difficulties. Quartararo reported excessive fuel consumption issues that triggered multiple dashboard alerts, forcing him to use the least powerful engine mapping (mapping 3) to ensure he could finish the race. While the decision limited his speed on straightaways, it allowed him to salvage a result amidst technical instability.
In the Japanese manufacturer battle, Honda remains in fourth place with 137 points, ahead of Yamaha, which sits in fifth with 84 points. Honda's race was marked by challenges, including crashes by Zarco and Moreira and the retirement of Joan Mir due to illness.
