DUI condemns Assembly President Afërim Gashi over silence on Ohrid Agreement and Albanian flag dispute

The Democratic Union for Integration (DUI) issued a statement accusing Assembly President Afërim Gashi of remaining silent when the Ohrid Framework Agreement should be defended. The party also criticised the government's failure to allow Albanian representatives to display the Albanian national flag in official meetings, despite legal protection.

DUI highlighted that even Maxim Dimitarievski, a senior politician, attempted to discipline high officials, exposing what it described as a culture of weakness and subservience within the cabinet. The party called for “courageous representatives with dignity and a voice” for the Albanian community, rejecting the “politics of servility” it says currently prevails.

Quotes from the statement include: “Be silent when you should defend the Ohrid Agreement” and “Enough of the politics of servility”. DUI urged Albanian citizens and all residents of the state to demand representatives who will protect their rights rather than remain passive.
