Vlen party criticizes DUI over lack of accountability after election losses
The political party Vlen has issued a sharp critique of the Democratic Union for Integration (DUI) following recent local election results in North Macedonia. Vlen accused DUI of failing to take political responsibility for its electoral losses in several municipalities, including Chair, Tetovo, Aracinovo, Bogovinje, Tearce, Struga, Zelino, and Saraj.
Vlen leaders claimed that instead of resigning, defeated DUI officials have been rewarded with new party positions. Specifically, they cited Bujar Osmani, who lost in Chair but remains a vice president, and Faton Ahmeti, who reportedly received two new roles following the election defeat. The party also criticized Ali Ahmeti for his calls for early parliamentary elections, characterizing them as a tactic to maintain political relevance.
Vlen further clarified its own status, stating that its formation from five political entities is a legal process following victories in ten municipalities, rather than an attempt at deception as alleged by DUI.
