Duisburg church building repurposed as community and education hub
The Evangelical Church in Duisburg-Vierlinden is repurposing its Martin-Niemöller-Haus following the emotional closure of one of its churches in March. The building is being transformed into a community and educational hub.
New tenants have moved into the facility, including a martial arts school and a music school with an accompanying music shop. Pastor Johannes Brakensiek noted that while the congregation lost a church, the project ensures the building remains a functional part of the district. The local youth center will also continue to operate, having relocated from the basement to the upper floor of the building.
