Duitama collects over 9 tons of post-consumption waste
In Duitama, Colombia, the ‘Reconectados con el Ambiente 3.0’ environmental campaign successfully collected over 9 tons of post-consumption waste between September 28 and 30. The initiative, led by the Boyacá Governorate with support from Corpoboyacá, the local Mayor's office, and Urbaser, focused on the proper disposal of items that cannot be processed with ordinary household trash.
Collected materials included electrical and electronic waste (WEEE), expired or partially consumed medications, batteries, light bulbs, and domestic insecticide containers. The campaign aimed to prevent these specialized materials from entering conventional waste streams and to promote sustainable management practices within the Boyacá region.
