Dukava and Rafael Santos receive musical recognition

Colombian singer-songwriter and researcher Dukava has released her debut single, ‘Mantarraya’. Produced by Juan Carlos ‘El Chato’ Rivas, the track blends traditional Colombian campesina guitar with jazz influences. The song serves as a posthumous tribute to Ernesto ‘Teto’ Ocampo, a key figure in new Colombian music who influenced the artist’s repertoire. The project aims to use ancestral sounds as tools for cultural identity and social connection.

In separate news, Vallenato singer Rafael Santos was honored on ‘El Show de las Estrellas’ for his career achievements and his production ‘Mis Éxitos, Mi Historia’. The album features new versions of songs from his 28-year career, recorded alongside accordionist Jimmy Zambrano. Santos noted that the project allows him to establish his own musical identity while honoring the legacy of his father, Diomedes Díaz.
