No. 3 Duke women's soccer and No. 9 UCLA played to a 1-1 draw at Wallis Annenberg Stadium in Los Angeles.
Duke took an early lead just 2:05 into the match when Sam Courtwright scored from a free kick. UCLA equalized in the second half at the 49:06 mark when Oruha Hayashi converted a penalty kick. Despite Duke playing with ten players after Jocelyn Travers received a red card in the 72nd minute, goalkeeper Molly Vapensky made two key saves to secure the draw.
With this result, Duke concludes its season-opening California road trip with a 1-0-1 record.
