Duke Blue Devils athletics see basketball debut and football bye week

The Duke Blue Devils athletic programs saw recent activity across football and women's basketball. In women's basketball, the team made its 2026-27 debut at the annual Countdown to Craziness event held at Cameron Indoor Stadium. During a Blue versus White intrasquad scrimmage, the White team defeated the Blue team 26-23. Delaney Thomas led the White team with nine points, while Aaliyah Crump contributed 10 points.

In football, the Duke program entered a bye week following a 4-0 start to the 2026 season. As a result of weekend matchups in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), Duke remains one of only three undefeated teams in the league alongside Miami and Pittsburgh. However, the Pittsburgh program suffered a setback with starting quarterback Mason Heintschel sustaining a torn ACL.
